While I know it’s the year of the snake, I think it really is the year of the baby. During the fall of last year, there were no children in my close circle of friends, but at the same time later this year, there will be more than five, including my own little one! Since we’re spread out all around the country, Edwin and I decided that we better get out there and visit our friends who have already had their babies before I can no longer get airborne.

Jones Family : Pasadena Family Session
Ask Oliver how old he is and he’ll show you three fingers. He’ll even count them up for you if you ask. It’s incredible to me that I’ve been documenting this sweet little boy for almost three years now. And in the tradition we started when Oliver turned one, we made a quick stop at a nearby church where we snapped Oliver at the three marker.

It seems to happen to all families. The kids grow up and they stop taking those annual family portraits at Sears or the local photo studio. And suddenly, one of the kids is getting married.

I am so happy to share these photos of some dear friends of ours, who are expecting their first little one in February. Regardless of how non-maternal Pavi feels, I know that both she and Alex will make wonderful parents. The reason why? They always manage to not take themselves too seriously and make each other laugh. Like this.
