Earlier this week I blogged a newborn session in black and white photos only. While I love the quiet feel of black & white newborn photos, some of them really just screamed for color. As I mentioned in that post, I do believe that new life should be seen in vivid color. So here are all those same photos again. In living color. Yeah, I know, I just dated myself.

I’m usually a full-color, bold and bright type of gal, but I do love me some black and white. A couple of weeks ago I went to the inspiring Who Shot Rock & Roll exhibit at the Annenberg Space for Photography, where many of the images on display were black and white. And I figured there wouldn’t be a better time to do this than with a newborn session.
It was a match made…on the Warner Bros. studio lot. Cynthia and Heath had met through work, but it wasn’t until a fateful night at happy hour that the sparks began to fly. And it culminated on a warm Friday evening, when this California girl and her Texas boy dedicated their lives to each other.
While I love shooting all children, my favorite subject of late is my seven-month old niece. Yeah, I might be a little biased, but I can’t resist snapping photos of this trouble maker. She seems to love my camera – she’s endlessly fascinated by it, but is often a bit too curious and tries to eat it. Luckily I caught her one day while she was waking up for a nap and still a bit calm.
