While I know it’s the year of the snake, I think it really is the year of the baby. During the fall of last year, there were no children in my close circle of friends, but at the same time later this year, there will be more than five, including my own little one! Since we’re spread out all around the country, Edwin and I decided that we better get out there and visit our friends who have already had their babies before I can no longer get airborne.

It’s incredible to me that I’ve been documenting this sweet little boy for almost three years now. And in the tradition we started when Oliver turned one, we made a quick stop at a nearby church where we snapped Oliver at the three marker.

It was a habit I picked up in New York. I would obsessively check weather.com to see how to properly prepare for the day, even needing an hourly update. But when I moved back to Southern California over four years ago, I quickly realized that my most frequently visited site wasn’t quite so useful to me in Los Angeles. Every morning before work I would check the weather and every morning it was the same (clear skies and sunny, in case you’re wondering). So I stopped checking.
