It seems to happen to all families. The kids grow up and they stop taking those annual family portraits at Sears or the local photo studio. And suddenly, one of the kids is getting married.
Last winter, I was lucky enough to capture Mona and Jack’s engagement photos in Breckenridge. Sadly, I won’t be available to document what I’m sure will be their amazing Maui wedding this summer, but my consolation prize is getting to shoot updated family photos for Mona’s family. According to Mr. Hsieh, they haven’t taken family photos since before any of the kids went to college.
While Mona and Jack were in Southern California visiting family over the Christmas holidays, I was happy to spend an afternoon getting acquainted with the rest of the Hsiehs at Cal Poly Pomona. What a great location for a photo session! Here are some of my favorites from our, thankfully rainless, afternoon.
The Hsieh siblings.
Mona is the oldest of three, although you might not guess that from this photo!
The Hsieh ladies.
And here’s Jack, becoming one of Hsieh kids. I don’t remember having this much fun with my sister when I was growing up.
I couldn’t resist getting in a few couple shots of Mona and Jack, so I’ll end with these.
Mona – It was a pleasure meeting your family and spending an afternoon wandering Cal Poly Pomona’s campus! Many thanks for allowing me to document a moment in your family’s life.
