With my taking a year and half off to travel, I just missed capturing this little guy’s newborn and baby photos, so I was very excited to finally meet Hailey’s little boy. And I quickly discovered that meeting him as a toddler ain’t such a bad deal.

It all started when Jamie asked an unexpected question: Are you going to be up in the Bay Area anytime soon? She was interested in taking some family photos since her daughter, Miley, was soon to be six months old. And while I didn’t have anything planned, Jamie’s question pushed me to get my Bay Area act together and make a family photo-filled weekend happen.
I’m a firm believer that if I feel fear, then I must be doing something right. Well, that is, except when it comes to haunted houses and horror movies. Those are just wrong. But really, when someone asks me to do something and I’m a little scared of it, then I know I’m being pushed outside my comfort zone. And that’s a good thing.
At about four months old, this little guy is one of the happiest babies I’ve met. And what’s there not to be happy about? He’s got plenty to eat, a full head of hair, and when he laughs, the cutest dimples (he gets it from his mama) appear.
With one son living in Hawaii and one in Baltimore, it’s not every day that their whole family is in one city. So when my Aunt Clara and Uncle James realized that they would all be in Los Angeles to attend a wedding, they figured it would be the perfect opportunity to update their family portraits.
