The Yang Sisters

The Yang Sisters

It was the day after Christmas and happily, I wasn’t out shopping. Instead, I was enjoying an afternoon of LA sunshine while shooting a happy family of sisters, their husbands, and their babies.

I took photos for Lisa when Rebecca Sky turned one. Now, six months later, Rebecca already looks like a little lady! With her furry boots and grown-up clothing, I was surprised by how much she has grown in such little time. For the holidays, Lisa’s twin sisters were in town visiting and, as a Christmas gift, Lisa asked if I could take some family photos. I was more than happy to spend some quality holiday time documenting the Yang sisters.

Meet Ishaan

Meet Ishaan

I’ve been suffering a backlog of photos. In early September, I took some baby photos for a good friend of mine – you may remember them from a maternity shoot I did in May. And yes, it is only now that I’ve finally finished processing those photos. Just in time for the holidays!

So, without further ado, meet Ishaan Natarajan. At just around 6 weeks old, he was such a good model for his first photo shoot. We even got him to sit up by himself on the couch! It’s amazing to see our friends transform so quickly into such doting parents.

Meet Angela Grant

Meet Angela Grant

When you first meet Angela, you wouldn’t guess that within that quiet, small, Disney-loving person is a hardcore rocker chick. I first met Ang years ago, when she was playing with my sister in Cockpit. An amazing guitarist and talented musician, you can see Ang play with prominent cover bands Blonde Jovi and Valley Dolls. And most recently, she’s been teaching guitar lessons at the Guitar Center in Woodland Hills, so if any of you are in need of a guitar lessons, give Ang a call!

“Chris Westlake Demo”

“Chris Westlake Demo”

As the familiar sounds of harmonics and tuning wafted through the air, it was like I had gone back 10 years in my life. It was a long time ago, but that was the last time I had stood amidst an orchestra. This past weekend, I again felt the familiar energy and pulse of a group coming together to perform. And I have to admit, it’s definitely something that I’ve missed.

I was graciously invited to a local recording studio to document the first time Chris was recording a demo with a full orchestra. It was impressive, to say the least. Chris is an incredibly talented composer and to hear his work come to life in a recording studio was an amazing experience. Just the sheer size of the mixing board was a sight to behold, let alone trying to understand everything that was going on. Witnessing how the magic happens gave me a whole new appreciation for composition that goes far beyond the tedious Certificate of Merit tests I had to endure as a child.

Lisa & Tony : Wedding

Lisa & Tony : Wedding

She was beaming with pride. It was like she couldn’t help but smile and enjoy the celebration that was about to commence. And why not? She, joined by so many loved ones, was about to watch her granddaughter get married.

About a month after their destination wedding in Cabo, Lisa and Tony were gracious enough to host a reception locally in San Diego for friends and family who weren’t able to make the trek down south. Among these guests was Lisa’s grandmother, who was overjoyed to see live footage from the ceremony in Cabo. Lisa and Tony’s videographer did such an amazing job with the wedding video that I felt like I was actually in Cabo all over again.
